Teemu Pukki

Teemu Pukki and Holmbert Fridjonsson were both in the Brondby side that beat Sonderjyske 1-0 yesterday.

The loan Celts failed to find the net but did link up well as Andrew Hjulsager scored the only goal of the game midway through the second half to lift Brondby into fourth place in the table.

Johan Elmader replaced Fridjonsson midway through the second half with Pukki substituted in the closing stages as Brondby ran the clock down.

Over in Belgium Amido Balde remains stuck on his spectacular debut goal for Beveren who lost 4-2 away to leaders Bruges. After nine matches the loan Celt is struggling to make his mark in the Belgian league.

Much closer to home there was a contrast in fortunes for Luke Donnelly and Aiden McIlduff as they sample the real world of life at the bottom of the Scottish footballing ladder.

Donnelly found himself on the scoresheet as East Stirling beat Montrose 4-0 while McIlduff was on the wrong end of the same scoreline with Clyde losing out at Gayfield to leaders Arbroath.

Moving up two divisions Marcus Fraser helped lift Cowdenbeath off the bottom of the Championship with a 1-0 home win over Livingston.

Barring a 6-0 defeat at Falkirk the Fifers have been on a decent run of form recently but return to the Falkirk Stadium on Saturday on Scottish Cup duty.

In the top flight there was disappointment for Jackson Irvine as Ross County were edged out 2-1 away to St Johnstone, next Saturday Irvine and his team-mates return to Perth as the home side begin their defence of the Scottish Cup.
