Anthony StokesAnthony Stokes and Stefan Scepovic lead the line tonight as a Celtic XI play Morton in a testimonial for long standing kit-man Andy Bryan.

Both internationalists were involved with the first team squad for the matches at St Mirren Park but 48 hours before the Champions League qualifier against Stjarnan find themselves playing in the development side.

Scepovic was the subject of transfer speculation from La Liga new boys Las Palmas this morning will play as the sole striker with Stokes expected to be in the advanced left midfield role.

Elsewhere it is a strong looking Celtic side with Luke Donnelly, Aiden Nesbitt and Kieran Tierney getting a chance to play 90 minutes against good quality opponents.

Tonight’s side will feature a mix of players who have been working with the first team over the last three weeks alongside the younger group who returned from their Valencia training camp yesterday after a fortnight in the sun that ended with a 3-0 defeat against La Liga side Levante on Saturday morning.

Cappielow will once again be the base for Celtic’s Development League fixtures with the hoops first home match a month away against Partick Thistle.

Newly promoted Morton will provide tough opponents with Jim Duffy’s side keen to make an impression on the Championship after dropping down to League One last term after a disastrous season under Kenny Shiels.

After tonight’s match Celtic have friendlies arranged against Turriff United, Raith Rovers and East Kilbride before starting the competitive action away to Hibs in the Development League.

When a six year stretch at the Sunday Mirror came to an end it was clear that the future was digital, print had ran its race.

Smart phones and social media created a new landscape, Video Celts has certainly made an impact with Joe described as having an unhealthy obsession by Peter Lawwell at the 2024 Celtic AGM. A priceless endorsement.
