Dave King Furious Sevco director Stewart Robertson has hit out at Championship clubs for failing to vote him onto the board of the SPFL.

Robertson only received his Sevco blazer last month but decided to stand for election to the board despite being at a club heavily in debt, with no auditor or nominated adviser and being kept afloat thanks to the generosity of Sports Direct chief Michael Ashley.

With the toxic reputation of the club due to it’s association with Dave King, who was described as a glib and shameless liar by a South African judge, it looks like another challenging time for the Ibrox company as they attempt to make the big time.

Responding to today’s knock-back by Championship clubs Mr Robertson told the club website: “Having stood for election the result of the vote is very disappointing. However, I would like to thank those who did vote for me and I hope that by standing for election Rangers’ commitment to engage with the football authorities has been demonstrated.

“With a new Board in place at Ibrox we have a lot to offer the broader church of Scottish football. It is reasonable that a Club of Rangers’ size should have a voice and we will try again next year. Right now, though, we are looking forward to the start of the new season.”

Once Robbo has helped secure audited accounts confirming that the Sevco outfit is a going concern the broader church of Scottish football may look for the former Motherwell director to share his talents and leadership skills.

Details of the vote haven’t been released but Mike Mulraney of Alloa, and Eric Drysdale of Raith Rovers will represent the interests of Championship clubs on the board of the SPFL.

Ann Budge of Hearts also failed to get voted onto the board but has declined to criticise clubs for voting for other candidates.

Chris Graham, Walter Smith, Charles Green, Imran Ahmad and James Easdale are among the previous directors of the Ibrox club.

It’s unclear whether Sevco have paid the £250,000 fine that Rangers (IL) were hit with for the illegal use of five players paid through EBT schemes. HMRC have an appeal in against over 50 similar type agreements with players.

Sevco’s attempt to deny all member clubs a cut of the gate money from play-off matches was rejected by clubs at the end of last season.

Scottish football has shown everyone that we don’t need sevco, no matter how much they squeal.

Best of luck to Celtic and Aberdeen in their European adventures … especially Celtic

Why would they vote for a new director of a new club (RIFC 2012)
He’d be better trying to find out why, they need emergency loans half way thru a season, to stay afloat.
With season tickets going so well, the zombies can pay at the gate, for their mid week friendly !

Jealous Huns just can’t take it, nobody gives a toss about them anymore.

  • Mitch says:

Should learn how to run their own club properly before trying to run Scottish football. Mike Mulraney is more than qualified for that role ????????

  • William - Perth Australia says:

No one wants these SFA sponsored gangsters to have any chance of further corruption – over 100 years of cheating and tax evasion!
Newco same as the old, rotten to the core.

Hail Hail – Celts Down Under.

    Greetings.
Your supreme leader predicts Sevco will finish fifth this year.
And your supreme leader will laugh his head off.
