Helsingborg may be forced to sell Jordan Larsson to save the club.
The 18-year-old has broken into the Helsingborg first team this season, showing all the touches and poise that made his dad a Swedish hero playing in three World Cups.
Helsingborgs need to raise £300,000 to retain their elite licence with the sale of Larsson likely to bring in £500,000.
League leaders IFK Gothenburg are believed to keen on the young striker as they look to take the title from back-to-back winners Malmo.
“Jordan is a young and talented player but more than that, I would not say,” IFK Sporting Director Mats Gren told Expressen newspaper.
On Thursday night IFK coach Jorgen Lennartsson watched young Larsson score twice for Helsingborgs in the 8-1 Swedish Cup win over Lunden OBK.
While the sums involved may seem small Swedish football takes licensing seriously to ensure that teams don’t benefit on the park by overspending with money they don’t have.
Helsingborgs have had long standing cash problems and are currently sitting in seventh place in the 16 team Allsvensken.
According to Expressen Henrik’s plan is for Jordan to play a couple of seasons at Helsingborg before moving on to Feyenoord but it seems that the financial problems of the club could force an early sale with IFK almost certain to be playing European football next season.
With nine matches left to play IFK, with Thomas Rogne in central defence, are seven points clear of champions Malmo with Elfsborg and AIK Stockholm within two points of top place.

Get him signed, he can play out this season on loan in Sweden to Helsingborg join up with us after and start next season on loan at Helsingborg again and come back to us ready for cl qualifiers. Surely we aren’t gonna let another team nip in before us on this one.
