Tom-RogicAnge Postecoglou believes that injury-free Tom Rogic will only get better.

The Australian international manager took the heart-breaking decision a year ago to leave the midfielder out of his squad for the World Cup Finals.

Having joined Celtic in January 2013 a place in Brazil was a definite goal for Rogic but 2014 turned out to be a virtual right-off due to injuries.

With a new manager- and new signings at Celtic- Rogic became something of a forgotten man as he made his way back with half a dozen appearances in the Development League as the season came to a halt.

Despite the heavy competition for places Ronny Deila has brought the 22-year-old into his plans for the new season and been rewarded in terms of goals and performances.

Watching through the night from his home in Australia Postecoglou said: “He’s in a good space. He scored and set one up last night, I watched the game, he’s feeling really happy about his progress now.

His body’s good, which is probably the only thing that has held him back. There’s no doubt he’s a great talent but I think he just feels better about himself.

Hopefully it continues because he can become an important player for us. I’d have to think his best is still well ahead of him. He’s still a young man. When you look at the injuries he’s had, in terms of his career, he’s still got a long way to go.

For me just seeing him back on the park with a smile on his face, being able to play the football he wants to play but in terms of where his best is at I don’t think anyone knows but he certainly got off to a good start in the last few weeks.”
