Aberdeen ArmageddonThree years on from Armageddon Aberdeen have announced a record turnover and £509,000 profit from the 2014/15 season.

With wealthy non-billionaire investors taking over the club’s historic £15m debt run up trying to compete through the EBT years the Dons can look to the future with confidence living within their means.

Over the last 18 months Derek McInnes’ side have won the League Cup, appeared in two national semi finals, finished second in the league and featured in six Europa League qualifiers.

Despite a recent slump in results a win at Hamilton today will take them to just five points behind Celtic with the balance sheet looking just as impressive despite deducting full tax and national insurance from all employees.

Yesterday chairman Stewart Milne announced: “The overall turnover increased by £1.919 million from £11.158 million to £13.077 million, which is a record for the Club, with the previous highest turnover of £12.869 million being achieved in the 2007-8 season when we reached the knockout stages of the UEFA Cup. The Club Shop also achieved a record income of £2.086 million

“Wages increased from £6.084 million to £6.644 million as a direct result of much higher performance bonuses being paid to the playing and management staff and an investment in the overall quality of the playing squad. The wages to turnover ratio has dropped from 55% to 51% which is excellent when compared with many other clubs.

“Having reached agreement with the Bank and certain creditors to bring about a reduction of the Club’s net debt, the operating profit for the period rose from £34,000 to £509,000 which allied to the reduction in interest charges and facility charges, puts the Club in an excellent position going forward.”

Over the last fortnight Inverness Caley Thistle, Falkirk and Partick Thistle have all announced that they are debt free and in profit as the full benefits of Rangers going into liquidation in 2012 are felt across the whole of Scottish football.

David Murray has alot to answer for.

He was a cancer apon Scottish football.

Before he came in our game was in a good healthy condition and even our national team doing well but that all changed when Mr cheating bastard took stage.

It’s good to see the our game is starting to recover with clubs now becoming debt free.

Last thing that needs to happen now is punish the cheats and clean out the sfa.

The only way we’ll get change in this country is if all the club’s stick together, and demand it. The SFA and SPFL, coupled with a biased press, which are all linked to the brotherhood is killing us. Their treatment of Deadco along with Sevco says it all, BENT RULES WITH NO QUESTIONS !

The corrupt adminis ‘trators’ SFA and SPFL are hoping beyond hope that they can tough it out and slither around until they can claim their healthy pension and golden hand shake for bringing Scottish football down to gutter level to appease their toxic friends at ipox.

No matter how small or how large the protest is – no matter how conventional or how creative it becomes – the protests need to come thick and fast from now on to get this disease out of Hampden.
