Dave King Sevco have issued a statement admitting that today’s Big Tax Case won’t have any impact on ‘our club’.

A day of despair for supporters of the Ibrox club kicked off with the Daily Record revelation that Dave King could be spending Christmas in jail for ignoring a court order preventing him from discussing the contract with Sports Direct.

Not long after the cornflakes had been finished news of £7.5m losses for the 2014/15 season were published with an acknowledgement that Sevco will require outside funding in December to keep the lights on.

As that news was being devoured it was announced that HMRC had won the big tax case relating to tax owed from the Employee Benefit Trust. Confirmation that the club currently in liquidation had cheated Her Majesty’s Revenue and Custom in order to deliver trophies as well as every club they played over nine seasons.

Rubbing salt in the open wounds the club website tonight announced: “WE WOULD like to correct some misleading information that has been circulating on what is described as the “Big Tax Case”.

For the avoidance of doubt, Rangers have not lost the case. There is no question of any liability impacting on our Club, its history or any member of the Rangers International Football Club plc Group.

The Rangers Football Club and the entities which currently own and manage it are not party to these proceedings nor do we have any say in what happens. The proceedings are a matter for those affected by them.

We note that the assessments for tax which were the subject for appeal and which are referred to as the Big Tax Case relate to Murray Group Holdings Limited, Murray Group Management Limited, The Premier Group Property Limited, GM Mining Limited and RFC 2012 PLC (in liquidation).”

Next Thursday the legal bills will be mounting when the club explains the decision not to fund Charles Green’s legal fees in the Ibrox Fraud Case.

On the pitch Mark Warburton is expecting to complete a deal to sign John Eustace in time for Saturday’s match with Alloa Athletic.

I was going to say that I couldn’t believe the way the news channels and radio had covered the news about rangers being guilty of cheating but I suppose its what I expected.

The way they referred to the company and club being different entities and how this doesn’t mean they will lose the cheated titles is what they were always going to push on us and also how the account’s of sevco are no big deal and all is well…….what a joke they are, they just can’t help themselves, but that is not going to stop justice being served and sevco going into administration……..tic toc tic

Sounds like there not going to fight this judgement, as they know they can’t win it, and probably can’t finance it anyway.

A think we should just get 70 million in debt, sign cracking players paying big wages be successful as fuck, then just liquidate without paying a penny and just say we can get our products team to release a statement saying it’s naw us don’t worry about it, haha on the same day they release a statement saying the new owners, ie the glib and shameless liar king, are 8 million in debt already pmsl no wonder they can’t get funds together to sign that guy that’s been training for 6 month lol just wondering were that 30 million war chest has went to that the glib promised before he got his feet in the door

      Chivs,

That is the argument I used to use (before I got sick of talking to brick walls) when debating the club/company gibberish zombears would hit out with. I asked we couldn’t spend £200m on a shot a CL glory and if it all went tits up then we could simply write off the debt and start again in the 3rd division. I also used to ask why fans and all associated with both Hearts and Dunfermilne FC were so over the moon with their clubs achieving CVAs (and continuing to live within their means) when they could also have went down the sevco route. Guess what? Not one logical answer!
