ABERDEEN FANS NOT MOVING ONAberdeen’s travelling support yesterday warned chairman Stewart Milne that they have no intention of ‘moving on’.

In midweek Milne sparked fury in an interview claiming that it was time for Scottish football to move on and forget about a decade of cheating from Rangers (IL).

Yesterday fans who had made a round trip of 300 miles to watch their team at Kilmarnock unfurled a banner stating: ‘MOVING ON IS A DECISION FOR FANS NOT CHAIRMEN.

The potential of increased commercial deals seems to be driving Milne’s thoughts but supporters of the club have other ideas with the Dons one of the biggest victims of the approved cheating from Ibrox.

During the Bank of Scotland funded 9-in-a-row years Aberdeen were often the closest challengers to Rangers (IL). While the Dons lived within their means and sold players like Theo Snelders and David Robertson to balance the books Dave Murray could throw money about without recourse as he chased the European Cup to compliment domestic dominance.

By the turn of the century Aberdeen existed to repay the crippling debt ran up attempting to repeat the successes that they enjoyed in the eighties. Over at Ibrox, players, managers and SFA officials were handed tax free payments with side letters withheld from the football authorities.

While Spartans and East Stirling were booted out of cup competitions for genuine registration errors Rangers (IL) were fined £25,000 a season for deliberately withholding details of player payments. Not only did Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs lose out but SFA and SPL officials in the know turned a blind eye as they chased up sponsorship and broadcasting deals for matches in which one club had a very unfair advantage.

Message boards and forums for Aberdeen supporters made their feelings crystal clear on the subject before Milne’s moving on comments, since he went public opinion has firmed up with the Dons chief a target for their anger as much as the SFA and SPFL.

It has still to be confirmed if BDO will be allowed to appeal against the unanimous result in the Big Tax Case. Having escaped any sanction for the Wee Tax Case, regarding undisclosed payments to Tore Andre Flo and Ronald de Boer, Milne and his colleagues across the land can expect an uncompromising message from fans if the result of the Big Tax Case stands.

Any prospect of moving on to a new level in commercial income will come at a price- as supporters across the land refuse to be the fall guys for a sport where money and the success of one club matters more than any out of touch notion such as fairness.

Strip the titles and cups from rangers this has nothing to do with sevco so I don’t know why the glib one is getting his knickers in a twist, this is NOT rangers this is what crawled out of the abortion bucket .

Well said Joe. The blazers must think we are nuggets/button up the back/born yesterday if they think some choice words in a press statement is going to make us accept that we should move on from this most undignified debacle lol.

It’s as if they can’t see that the only way for Scottish football to regain credibility in the eyes of any interested sponsorship party, is to see this issue through to the bitter (pun intended) end. Whatever that outcome may be has still to be decided, but it must be decided without fear or favour.

Why can’t any journos grow a set and ask questions regarding this the next time they are infront of Regan, Doncaster et al? Or regarding the unpaid lightweight fine? Even if they know the answer, are they really that much of a crap bag that they think some mob of bitter hun is going to chase them down and pillage their existence? Or are they being told from their own work bosses not to go there?

That’s exactly correct..There bosses have been THREATENED BY THE MOB..Ask Jum Spence if you don’t believe me..Its down to the fans..In stead of fighting one another we should be backing one another for a boycott of Scottish football until these Crooks and cheats are removed from our game..Boycotts the only way..No money going in to the clubs The Clubs Boards MUST TAKE ACTION..Its the only way forward..Were not playing on a level playing field HH

Well said dons fans , Celtic forums are the same its about time we boycott anything to do with the sfa then the titles might get stripped & void we can’t keep quiet lets turn the volume up

  • jas says:

I heard all this boycott talk a few months ago and yet there are tims rushing around trying to get tickets for the Ross County semi final. That should be the first “victim” in a concerted campaign to get Laurel and Hardy out of Hamdump

  • Jamesq says:

Well done Dons fans, keep the pressure on.

  • Phaco says:

An Aberdeen fan or two have pissed me off a few times over the years , but credit where credit is due. Well done the Dons supporters. Honesty cannot be replicated.

  • drawkcab says:

    Strip the titles.
Accept that rangers died and the new rangers are a new club.
Pay the debt of old ranger if the want to be a new club.
    Apologise.
    Pay reparations
    Get punished.
    Move on.
    Simple.

  • Jim Kennedy says:

    Two thoughts
    1
Maybe Stewart Milne has been promised league title to coincide with the ‘New stadium”

2 If RIFC don’t get promoted, the TV companies will lose interest in them altogether. Hence the rush to get them up by crook or by crook.
