Warburton MarkSevco starlet Nathan Oduwa has had his loan deal cut short by Spurs.

The 19-year-old arrived in a blaze of glory but hasn’t started a match since the 1-1 draw away to Livingston on November 21.

Oduwa’s show boating on his debut at Alloa won him an army of admirers but behind the flicks and tricks there was little substance to his game as he drifted out of contention at Ibrox.

Following his eye-catching debut Alloa defender Colin Hamilton said: “What was there, a minute to go? Was there really any need for it? I can’t tell any player how to play or not play, it’s his decision but he’s come up here and he’s trying to show off, trying to make a name for himself.

I didn’t even get the chance to speak to him after the game as he just walked off but I’m sure there are other centre backs and left backs in the league that if he does try that against them, they maybe won’t let him away with it the same way.”

After impressing in a home win over Raith Rovers Mark Warburton said: “He plays with a smile on his face and he’s been given a chance to play, which is fantastic. He has to take responsibility and he has to deal with a crowd of 44,000.

“For a 19-year-old boy it’s magnificent to show that level of quality. He knows he has to impact the game in a positive manner, which he did, where to do the tricks in the right places to have that positive end product.”

It seems that Spurs haven’t been impressed by the 19-year-old’s progress under former city trader Warbo. With Dom Ball used as back up to central defenders Danny Wilson and Rob Kiernan it’s likely that Ball will also have his loan deal cut short.

Was this guy not being portrayed as a super star by the Scottish media only a short time ago?

I presume Spurs are recalling him as sitting on the bench in the Scottish Championship was not part of the deal.

It’s about time that one of the club’s being subjected to another low ball offer from Govan should go public with the details……initial payment, instalments, add ons.
I’m sure it would make interesting reading.

Another desperate failure, signed by a desperate club. The iceberg is straight ahead, and they’re heading right for it.

I don’t think we can laugh too much at anyone. The clown we have as a manager brought in Guidetti! What a rocket-scientist that was! He too was heralded as the next super Swede. And ready to outshine Larsson!
