1. Kris CommonsWith the focus of attention on Leigh Griffiths netting his 50th Celtic goal Kris Commons strike against Dundee United was almost treated as an aside.

Despite his apparently un-athletic shape the midfielder produced an acrobatic finish to smash in Celtic’s fourth goal of the night.

As Stuart Armstrong moved in from the left he looked up to see Commons lurking outside the six yard box at the far post. When Armstrong delivered the ball Commons shaped up perfectly to drive a chest high volley beyond Eiji Kawashima into the net.

On a night in which Celtic could have doubled their tally Commons goal summed up the confidence that the team played with to move six points ahead of Aberdeen for two days.

With struggling Hamilton Accies coming to Celtic Park on Tuesday night Ronny Deila will be hoping that his side can hit the Tannadice heights in front of a home audience.

The stats at Celtic Park haven’t been great in recent times but a convincing win over Hamilton alongside the signing of Eric Sviatchenko should give everyone a lift with a League Cup semi-final and visit to Aberdeen coming up.

After the win at Tannadice Deila said: “It was a great performance, we scored four goals and we won the game in a good way so I’m very pleased,” he said.

We need to win a lot more games. We’ve played 21 now so there are 17 more games so it’s way too early to talk about these things but we’re in a good position and every time we win we put the other teams under pressure.

Lately we have had some performances that haven’t been great but that happens with every team. You don’t see any team go through a season without some bad performances. In Scotland we have won almost every game we’ve played so you have to also see the results we’re having.

We score a lot of goals so it’s not black all the time – there are some positive things as well.”
