Craig Gordon wants Celtic to show the winning attitude against Astana.

The build up to the match has been dominated by the defensive injury crisis that Brendan Rodgers side has suffered from as well as the five hour time difference and worries over another plastic pitch.

Like many in the Celtic squad Gordon has never played in the Champions League and is determined to go in against Astana with the right attitude.

We can’t go into the game thinking negatively,” he warned. “We’ve still got good players the ones who are going to play there is still good experience.

There is not any worry about that. We have got a gameplan and we are ready.

We have worked on a number of different formations pre-season and in training.

We are well on our way to understanding them. There is still work to be done in certain aspects of them but we do realise we are going to have to play in different styles be it home matches, away matches, European matches.”

Looking at Astana the keeper added: “We know they have quality. We’ve seen it on video. There are things and players to watch out for. We will try and nullify them as best we can.

They have a threat from set-pieces and are pretty good on the counter attack as well.

It is a combination of things. But we will look to play our game and impose ourselves on the match.”
