Moussa Dembele has tweeted his joy at Celtic’s 5-2 Champions League win over Hapoel Beer Sheva.

The former Fulham striker replaced Tom Rogic after 70 minutes then got the final touch on the corner that gave Celtic their fourth goal.

Scott Brown completed the scoring in the 85th minute to give Celtic a 5-2 advantage to take to Israel for the second leg.

Since signing for Celtic on July 1 Dembele has made no secret of his wish to play in the group stages of the Champions League.

He opened his Celtic scoring account from the penalty spot against Astana to take the hoops into the play-off and is now just 90 minutes away from realising his ambition.

I signed for Celtic because it’s a massive club in Europe,” Dembele said after completing his four year deal. “I want to play in the Champions League and I think I can do this here.

It would be special. As a young boy you always dream of playing in the Champions League. We have a chance to do that this season. It’s up to us, we have to win the qualifiers.

I want to score goals, I’m a striker. I want to score goals and win trophies because Celtic is a club that wins trophies. “I came to Celtic to improve. I was in the Championship and I’ve come to the Scottish Premiership. I see my future here and hopefully I can score a lot of goals for the club and win many trophies.”
