Mark Warburton has reacted furiously to claims that he misled Joleon Lescott over personal terms at Ibrox.
Villa chairman Dr Tony Xia has used twitter extensively to communicate with fans about all matters involving the club.
After his role in Villa’s relegation supporters were hopeful of seeing the defender moving elsewhere with Xia revealing that the Birmingham club were prepared to pay a portion of Lescott’s wages to get the deal done.
Explaining why the move wasn’t completed he tweeted:

After watching his side beat Motherwell 2-1 today Warburton responded saying: “Let me be really clear about this – it’s absolute nonsense.
“Personal terms were all agreed but the player just decided to keep his family in Manchester. He’s well settled with three young children. It’s absolute nonsense to say anything other than that.
“The fact he’s up here tells you that terms were agreed and there wasn’t a problem with that.
“It’s a big decision on the player’s part and we understand that but it’s nothing to do with what I’ve read in the papers.
“We know what happened, the player knows what happened. To take your three young kids out of school is a big call on his part and we respect it. It’s unfortunate but we wish him all the best.”
Earlier today Sevco announced the signing of Joe Garner only for Preston to deny that the deal had been completed.
Phillipe Senderos is expected to sign a deal within the next 48 hours to join Warburton’s revolution.
