Aberdeen have stated the bleeding obvious by telling their fans that they have never played Sevco before.

The club founded by Charles Green in 2012 travel to Pittodrie for the first time on September 25 after gaining promotion to the top flight by winning the Championship ahead of Falkirk and Hibs.

While the BBC and the football authorities attempt to promote the continuation myth it seems that individual clubs are setting the record straight dealing with the facts from 2012.

On their website match page Aberdeen have a feature called ‘Last Time’ which covers, funnily enough, the last time that the two clubs played. Fittingly the Dons website states ‘No previous meeting found’.

Predictably some Ibrox fans have taken to social media to denounce this statement of fact- perhaps if they had shown the same interest in securing a CVA as fans of Hearts and Dunfermline demonstrated they’d have less reason to be angry.

Supporters of both of those clubs are still doing the honourable thing in paying off creditors rather than chasing Joleon Lescott with both clubs now effectively controlled by their supporters.

Meanwhile at Ibrox the club is kept going by mystery overseas loans with fans and shareholders kept in the dark due to the company being unable to find a NOMAD to risk their reputation with a company associated with Dave King.

Sevo’s accounts for the year to 30 June 2016 are due to be issued shortly- like last year they are expected to contain a going concern warning with an annual deficit of around £10m between income and expenditure.
