Twitter account Charlotte Fakes could feature in the trial of Craig Whyte.

Early in 2013 some incredible material started to appear on line giving an insight into some of the issues relating to the liquidation of Rangers Football Club and the creation of Sevco.

Whyte, a former billionaire from Motherwell, faces two charges relating to that period with charges dropped against six other men including Charles Green.

The content from the Charlotte Faxes account was carefully monitored with much of it being withdrawn within hours of appearing.

How genuine the material is is up for debate while many bampots have attempted to work out the source of the leaked material and who is likely to benefit most.

Whyte will be defended by Donald Findlay with the former Rangers director bring Charlotte into the public domain in an interview with the Daily Record.

He said: “Pre-trial publicity is something where I have yet to take a view. I may take a view on it and if I do it will be put to the court and the Crown.

The other issue which is hovering in the background is the Charlotte fakes issue. I will again get to the bottom of whether this is now relevant. It may well be a side issue.”

In 2011 Whyte paid Dave Murray £1 for a controlling stake in Rangers with the club heavily in debt to Lloyds who had inherited the account from HBOS.

Nine months after handing over his pound coin Whyte put Rangers into administration with the club then going into liquidation when no-one offered a suitable CVA to Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs.

The trial is scheduled to start in April.
