Brendan Rodgers restricted his criticism to a ‘few strange decisions’ as he discussed Steven McLean’s performance in the Aberdeen v Celtic match at Pittodrie.
Erik Sviatchenko picked up a first minute booking but no similar action was taken for a string of similar fouls by the home side.
With eleven minutes to go Johny Hayes raced towards Scott Brown and knocked the hoops captain to the ground with McLean deciding that a yellow card was sufficient punishment. A couple of minutes later no further punishment was handed out to Hayes as he made a two footed lunge at Cristian Gamboa.
Despite no obvious stoppages during the second half five additional minutes were added on with McLean then finding a further sixty seconds as Aberdeen won two promising free kicks and a corner in stoppage time.
BR: “One or two funny decisions but it was a tough, physical game.”

The win lifted Celtic 10 points clear of their Betfred Cup Final opponents from a game less played.
Tom Rogic scored the only goal of the game in the 23rd minute with a brilliant left footed half volley from the edge of the penalty box.
The hoops should have been out of sight early in the second half with Rogic having three good chances in a ten minute spell to add to the scoreline.
