Chris Sutton waded into the Scotland debate on twitter and challenged one punter who tried to compare Chris Martin with Moussa Dembele!
The Derby County striker seemed to be the scapegoat for Scotland’s failure to beat Lithuania with most fans amazed that he was picked ahead of Leigh Griffiths.
As well as comparing the two players the issue also seemed to highlight Strachan’s preference for English Championship football ahead of the domestic game.
Kicking the debate off on twitter Sutton asked:
Bottom line for Scotland is Griffiths is a natural goalscorer but for whatever reason Gordon Strachan continues to discard him..

With Strachan’s stubborness well known Martin seems certain to be the first name on the team sheet for Scotland’s midweek match with Slovakia.
Away from his Scotland duties Strachan enjoys regular media stints with BT Sport which sees him regularly in the company of Sutton
In recent weeks Sutton has confronted Derek Johnstone and Steven Craigen live on air over their media take on events but so far the former Celtic striker hasn’t had any fireworks with anyone currently in the game.
A head-to-head between Strachan and Sutton on the merits of Martin and Griffiths would certainly make for spectacular viewing!
