Mark Warburton last night described the Ibrox boo-boys as magnificent!

Life at Ibrox has turned sour on the former city trader with his team booed off the park following their 1-1 home draw with St Johnstone.

After a summer of hype over their title winning prospects the reality of life in the top flight is starting to sink in for the fans that invested in season tickets.

As Warbo and others spoke of stopping Celtic no mention was made of dropping points at home to Hamilton Accies, Ross County and St Johnstone.

The spin put on to be outplayed by Celtic at Hampden prompted some fans to wonder about Warbo’s ability for the job with the final whistle last night greeted by a chorus of booing.

“It’s a demanding crowd because they’re used to success,” the former Brentford boss said.

“The players have to recognise it’s an expectant crowd – and quite rightly. We have to respect that and learn from that tonight.

“We know what the crowd wants, they’re magnificent. If we can play our game and move the ball quickly we’ll create chances but tonight we fell below our standards.”

On Saturday Sevco are at home to Kilmarnock who beat Hearts 2-0 at home last night. If Celtic win their lunchtime clash at Aberdeen they will go 12 points clear of Sevco as the teams kick off at Ibrox.
