There was only one story in town last night with Karamoko Dembele enjoying a nine minute appearance for Celtic’s Development team against Hearts last night.

The 13-year-old replaced Jack Aitchison as Tommy McIntyre’s side enjoyed a 3-1 win over Hearts to complete a remarkable story from Cappielow.

Dembele has been carefully nursed through the ranks within the Celtic Academy but there aren’t many secrets in this day and age.

Appearances in older age tournaments in Belgium and Ireland have put the brilliantly talented kid in the spotlight with every club in England on the trail.

A number of videos have appeared on You Tube highlighting his skills with the arrival and success of Moussa Dembele at Celtic adding to the story.

Despite only recently turning 13 Dembele is a regular in the Celtic u-15 side with matches against players of his own age providing no real benefit to his development.

Last night’s appearance against Hearts was partly due to circumstances with five players away on international duty for Scotland’s u-19 side but there are plenty of older prospects with the Celtic Academy that could have been called in ahead of the 13-year-old.

With every appearance and video clip the interest in Dembele is bound to grow as fans, scouts and coaches enjoy the remarkable talent and maturity of his play.

His ability on either foot, effortless control of the ball and willingness to shoot from almost any distance would be welcomed in a player of any age.

At just 13 years of age Dembele has everything going for him- occasional outings for Celtic’s Development side will only accelerate his development even further.
