Nir Bitton’s agent has hit out at the Israeli FA after the Celtic midfielder was banned from international football.

A training ground incident yesterday, ahead of the World Cup qualifier with Albania, seems to have got out of hand with the upshot being that Bitton has been excluded from the plans of manager Elisha Levy.

After being dropped by Brendan Rodgers being excluded from the international scene is the last thing that Bitton needs.

Being involved in international football is the ideal way to retain a presence and send a reminder to your club manager of your ability.

Bitton has been in and out of the Celtic side this season with Espanol reportedly interested in the midfielder at the start of the season.

Responding to yesterday’s development his agent Dudu Dahan said: “The message issued by the association to the media this afternoon is not accurate and does great injustice to Nir.

“Every coach who has coached the player in the last decade, abroad and with the Israel national team, will talk about zero discipline problems both professionally and personally.”

Israel and Albania are locked on six points in group G, a point behind joint leaders Spain and Italy.
