Emilio Izaguirre is feeling the love after returning to the Celtic first team.

Kieran Tierney’s ankle ligament damage has reopened the first team door to the popular Honduran internationalist.

Izaguirre has long been a favourite of the Celtic support, never failing to recognise and acknowledge the backing that he gets, especially away from home.

Now in his seventh season at the club his twitter account is quieter than most players but tonight he left his 7,000 followers in no doubt about where his heart lies.

Since Tierney was injured in training Izaguirre has been drafted in to play against Aberdeen and Borussia Monchengladbach.

After the game in Germany he revealed that he was looking to leave Celtic last summer but that possibility was blocked by Brendan Rodgers who required back up for Tierney.

Izaguirre will be 31 when his contract expires and is unlikely to be offered a new deal after seven seasons at the club.

When a six year stretch at the Sunday Mirror came to an end it was clear that the future was digital, print had ran its race.

Smart phones and social media created a new landscape, Video Celts has certainly made an impact with Joe described as having an unhealthy obsession by Peter Lawwell at the 2024 Celtic AGM. A priceless endorsement.

There are issues breaking around the clock, no two days are the same. More than 50 years on from his first match Joe is enjoying the ongoing successes of Celtic.
