Dave King has publically criticised Joey Barton- three weeks after both parties agreed a pay off and confidentiality agreement.
Barton hasn’t said a word about the seven week suspension- on full pay- that he served but will no doubt be noting the comments of the South African based criminal.
With 20 months left on his contract it’s believed that Barton has taken a staggered pay off which should ensure his silence until the severance payments are completed.
King refused any media coverage after the AGM- not even an invitation only Level 5 event- but let loose on the club television channel his feelings on Barton, Mark Warburton and a disastrous summer transfer window.
“I think he (former city trader Warbo) will admit certainly the summer transfer spending wasn’t as successful as it was the previous season,” King said putting the boot in.
“I know the standard is higher, but some of the players he has brought in – Joey Barton being a great example, he tied up a lot of wages but he didn’t perform for the manager.
“The manager then has to recycle that, and I think he has to keep looking, see what players are working in his squad, see what ones he may want to move on and which ones he might want to bring in.”
Warbo has been promised a January transfer war-chest provided he can recycle Phillipe Senderos, Joe Garner and other high earning flops.
Sevco will announce next week the results of the AGM resolution with King hoping to bring in £14m from fans to repay the crisis loans keeping the club afloat.
