Derek McInnes was delighted to see Aberdeen beat Partick Thistle to move back into second place in the SPFL.
Goals from Anthony O’Connor and Jayden Stockley either side of a equaliser from Adam Barton gave the Dons a 2-1 win and full points after back-to-back defeats from Hamilton and Celtic.
The pressure was on McInnes’ side after they had slipped behind Sevco despite beating Mark Warburton’s side at Pittodrie earlier in the campaign.
Thistle had gone into the match knowing that a win, on the back of victories at Dundee and St Johnstone, would lift them into the top six for the first time this season.
The home side matched Aberdeen in most areas and had strong claims for a penalty against Stockley waved away in the closing stages.
With the points in the bag Aberdeen can sit back today as Hearts meet St Johnstone then hope that Ross County can take something from Sevco on Sunday.
