For 63 minutes Calvin Miller lived the dream, playing alongside Scott Brown, Craig Gordon, Moussa Dembele and Scott Sinclair.

A month after converting to left-back the 18-year-old from Castlemilk was making his first team debut among the stars of Brendan Rodgers new look Celtic side.

The new bhoy acquitted himself well against a tough test from Partick Thistle but the hoops took full points thanks to a 16th minute goal from Scott Sinclair.

Miller was a boy wonder when he was declared the best player in the world at the age of 15 with not much thought going into the source of the award.

The Celtic Journal is no longer with us but after a season playing as a sole striker for the Celtic Development side Miller was switched to left-wing and now another step back to left-back.

After less than half a dozen appearance in that role Miller was handed his debut- and now the really hard work begins.

In every game he plays he’ll be ‘the guy that Rodgers picked against Partick Thistle’.

Miller has time on his side and the perfect development structure. With a three year contract signed in May of this year his development will be closely watched by Rodgers and thousands of fans worldwide hoping that he can follow in the footsteps of Kieran Tierney- his competition for a first team place.
