John Hartson was delighted to see Scott Sinclair return to action for the midweek win over Partick Thistle.
The former Aston Villa man marked his return from a month long absence with the only goal of the game as Celtic nudged themselves 14 points clear at the top of the SPFL table.
Hartson knows Sinclair’s game especially well with his contribution to Swansea’s current status part of Welsh folklore.
As well as a hat-trick in the play-off final against Reading Sinclair’s goals were largely responsible for Brendan Rodgers’ side reaching Wembley.
While Celtic continued to win without Sinclair there was an element missing from their play which now seems to be restored.
Writing in The Sun looking forward to next Saturday’s trip to Ibrox Hartson said: “Scott Sinclair was out injured for a month but then he came back against Partick Thistle on Tuesday night and performed like he’d never been away.
“He is a massive player for Celtic with so much energy and pace in his legs. I can see him having a huge impact against Rangers at Ibrox because he’s always been a big game player.
“I remember him at Swansea, scoring 25 goals in the season my team won promotion to the Premier League. Rangers don’t have anyone of his class.”
Warming to the theme of comparing the two squads Hartson added: “There’s been a lot of debate about the strengths and weaknesses of both squads but I can’t think of a Rangers player I’d have before a Celtic player. Not one.”
Sinclair is back in the Celtic squad to face Hamilton Accies today with Rodgers also having James Forrest back in the fold.
Tom Rogic is the only notable absentee after being injured last week against Dundee with the medical staff hopeful that the Australian will be fit enough to face Ross County or Sevco.
