Andy Halliday is confident that his Sevco team-mates can make it third time lucky when they face Celtic tomorrow.

The true blue midfield ace was brought up in Copeland Road and knows the devastation that liquidation of the club caused in 2012.

For the first time in four and a half years Celtic will visit the southside stadium and look to extend their lead at the top of the SPFL to 19 points with a game in hand.

Halliday’s pre-season hopes of winning the title went up in smoke months ago but like director John Gilligan his entire footballing outlook is centred on the glorious hoops.

From a fans’ point of view it is certainly bragging rights and listen, it is a massive derby but ultimately it is three points at stake so that is what we are going to try to go for,” the Ibrox ace explained to Daily Record readers.

“We must impose our style of play. I don’t think we have really done ourselves justice over the last two games against Celtic.

“Celtic dominated the game at Celtic Park and won 5-1 and the semi-final at Hampden we were sort of hanging on and never really imposed our attacking style of play in that game.

“It is important we get back to that and I think we have done that in our last few games, our form over the last five games has been really good so it is important to take the positives out of that into Saturday.”

Halliday was a half time substitute when Celtic hammered the tribute act in September and was involved in the clash with Joey Barton that led to the pay off for the former England star.

In October Halliday teamed up with Jason Holt against Celtic at Hampden but had little impact on the game as a late goal from Moussa Dembele booked Celtic a place in the final of the Betfred Cup.
