With dreams of a £2m move to Fulham in his mind Rob Kiernan picked the wrong time to come up with a howling performance.

The Sevco defender has apparently come on leaps and bounds this season with some performances bordering on adequate.

Kiernan was recently described as being a Champions League defender by Davie Weir but after five years surrounded by EBT fuelled team-mates it seems that the judgement of the former Scotland star has been dulled a little.

A cv that includes duty at Yeovil, Bradford, Wycombe, Wigan, Accrington and Southend suggests mediocrity which sums up the 25-year-old whose career highlight was playing for Ireland’s u-21 side.

Last night at St Johnstone Sevco were leading 1-0 when Kiernan decided to show off his silky skills.

His lazy pass to Wesley Foderingham was intercepted by Steven McLean who showed great composure on the deck to control the ball then send it into the net.
