Brendan Rodgers found his attacking options decimated before facing Hearts but the hoops still found the net four times to create a new club record of going 27 matches unbeaten into the season.

An injury to Stuart Armstrong in the warm up handed a starting place to Callum McGregor who took the opportunity with both hands- anticipating Scott Sinclair’s movements to race into an opening and notch the first goal.

Hearts had some reasonable passages of possession but the match turned Celtic’s way with the introduction of Liam Henderson.

In the 77th minute the substitute sent a great ball down the left for Kieran Tierney, when the Hearts defence failed to clear their lines Sinclair rammed the ball home from close range.

Shortly afterwards Henderson sent a similar pass through to Tierney whose cut back was netted by Patrick Roberts with Sinclair completing the scoring from the penalty spot after Jack Aitchison was brought down in the box.
