Celtic have been linked with a £2.5m bid for Kouassi Eboue.

According to a report in the Daily Record negotiations are at an advanced stage to bring the 19-year-old to Glasgow.

All of Brendan Rodgers’ signings to date have been tried and tested players with the move for Eboue falling into the sort of project typoe signings tried before the former Liverpool boss took over at the hoops.

Eboue only turned 19 in December and made his first team debut for Krasnodar in April but it seems that a £2.5m deal for the Ivorian is close to being completed.

According to the Russian Football News website: “The 2016/2017 season has seen him (Eboue) push on with aplomb, starting regularly in both the Premier League as well as the Europe League, marking his first start of the season – at home to Maltese side Birkirkara with his first goal for the club in a 3-1 victory.

He was on the bench a couple of times near the start of the season, but his impressive European displays cemented his place in the team for the league after the early September international break, and he’s barely moved from it since.”

As ever the story quickly developed on twitter with a profile of the Celtic target quickly appearing while his Wiki profile had him already signed up.

A work permit would need to be agreed but generally these type of signings tend to have an agreement for a work permit in place before negotiations develop.

Celtic fly out to Dubai at the weekend for some warm weather training with Rodgers hoping to have at least one new signing on board.
