With no sign of a Director of Football or first team coach Graeme Murty is bracing himself to lead Sevco to Celtic Park..

The stand-in Ibrox gaffer has cut a terrified figure on the touchline as he watched his side lose 2-1 at Dundee and Inverness Caley Thistle.

In less than a fortnight Sevco visit Celtic with all the indications being that the Reading legend will be in the dug out facing upto Brendan Rodgers.

At an early media conference Murty described facing Celtic as daunting with his touchline antics suggesting a man seriously outside of his comfort zone.

Asked to look ahead to facing Celtic he told The Sun: “Would it be difficult? Yeah but would it be something to look back on and say I learned a great deal about myself and about the players? Absolutely.

Would I welcome it? If it happens it would be a stellar moment for me as a person, to walk out there and experience that – the positive and negative parts of the atmosphere, the hostility, that exuberance Celtic have got at the moment and the challenge of preparing a team to go and handle that.

Murts added: “Do I allow myself to think about it? Minimally.

I would say less than 10 per cent of my thoughts are on that game because we have two massive games to go beforehand.

I’m actually not even thinking that much about Saturday, I’m thinking about Wednesday’s game because it’s really important.

If it occurs that I’m in post come Celtic, the message won’t change to the players — it’s all about them.”

Tomorrow night Murts will face up to Tommy Wright’s St Johnstone as he attempts to earn his first win in the SPFL.

Despite spin that the club has been in extensive talks with Southampton geek Ross Wilson about taking on the Director of Football role it seems that the company’s toxic finances have put the 34-year-old off the job.

As panic sets in it’s likely that a RRM will be pulled out a hat at some stage next week with even Billy Davies and Alex McLeish steering clear of an interim job and having March 12 on their CV.
