Chris Sutton takes more stick off the pitch than he ever put up with as a player.
In his pomp at Celtic and Blackburn he liked nothing more than a 90 minute battle with a defender and almost always came out on top.
He took the knocks, the elbows, the kicks and gave back as good as he got without complaint.
After a slow start to his media career he calls things exactly as he sees it- on air he comes out with the views that others only express when the microphones and cameras are switched off.
Those viewpoints don’t make him popular, certainly not with Ronny Deila and those Celtic fans who even a year ago were trying to convince themselves that the Norwegian had some grand master-plan for Celtic.
At that time the hoops had lost to Ross County in the League Cup, at Pittodrie in the SPFL cutting their lead over Aberdeen to three points and were nervously preparing to face East Kilbride in the Scottish Cup.
Earlier this season Sutton called out Mark Warburton in the same manner he outed Deila.
Sutton is usually right with what he says, people think he is a cunt because he used to play for Celtic and they can’t handle the truth????

Really hard to disagree with this… I’d maybe change usually to virtually always though???? https://t.co/pHDmtT8O4U

The people didn’t like it, Sutton was a jealous Celtic man was the most polite response when he explained why the magic hat was out of his depth.
With three defeats from Celtic to his name, a 25 point gap in the league table and back-to-back defeats from Hearts at Tynecastle to contend with some signs of reality are emerging around Ibrox.
Maybe Sutton did call it as he sees it?
