Warbo in denial

The afternoon after the night before Mark Warburton is still in denial about his big match flops.

For the second time in ten weeks Warbo’s side were outplayed, out fought and outclassed by Hearts.

Added to defeats at Celtic and Aberdeen earlier in the season it leaves Warbo with no points from four trips to the clubs occupying the top four places in the SPFL.

Despite staring a very obvious issue in the face the BBC reported Warbo saying: “I don’t think there is a problem with big games. I don’t see it as a big problem.

“We went to Aberdeen and I felt dominated and [we] should have won the game.

“We have gone to all these various other venues, Inverness, Partick, Dundee, Motherwell, we have won games of football very convincingly.

“The Parkhead game was well documented. Hearts, we had two bad performances, it’s as simple as that.

“Are we worried about going to those grounds? Not at all, absolutely not.”

Last night’s capitulation to Hearts seems to be a line in the sand moment for many Ibrox fans, fed up by their teams repeated failures and the same reaction from Warbo.

Saturday’s home match with Ross County looks like being a trial of nerves against a team that they have drawn twice with this season.

While Warbo denies that his team have a problem with away matches one fixture is etched in the minds of all fans- Celtic away on March 12.

The nightmare scenario of conceding the title before visiting the east end or seeing Celtic clinch the title against Warbo’s warriors would put a serious question mark against the future of the former city trader.
