Mark Warburton’s future as manager of Sevco is under threat tonight following a 1-1 draw at home to Ross County.

Less than 10,000 fans were inside Ibrox at the final whistle to boo their team off the park as they were overtaken by Aberdeen into second place.

The Dons won 2-0 at home to Partick Thistle and can put daylight between themselves and the tribute act by beating Motherwell on Wednesday night.

Warbo dropped Rob Kiernan and Andy ‘Copland Road’ Halliday from the side that got pumped by Hearts in midweek but it was like-for-like replacement with Pip Senderos and Jason Holt coming into the side.

Alex Schalk put the visitors in front after 18 minutes when he got in-between Senderos and Clint Hill and should have doubled the lead 10 minutes later when he was presented with an open goal but found the side net.

After the break Scott Fox pulled off a few good saves before Lee Wallace equalised in the 71st minute.

Despite drawing level Sevco failed to push on with County holding on despite the usual four minutes of stoppage time.

With Hearts winning earlier in the day Ian Cathro’s side are just six behind Sevco as the magic hat struggles to come up with fresh excuses after his hilarious explanations for the defeat at Hearts.

Former Celts Fox, Marcus Fraser, Michael Gardyne and Jim O’Brien were in the County side.
