Fortunately for Celtic Scott Sinclair managed to survive the brutal foul better than Tom Rogic.

The Australian is out of action for another two months after being cynically fouled before Christmas in Celtic’s 2-1 victory over Dundee.

Eight minutes before half time Sinclair was the victim of a horror challenge from Iain Vigurs that could easily have led to a season ending injury.

With the Celtic winger in the middle of the park there was little danger to the Caley Thistle goal but there seemed real enthusiasm about the way Vigurs crashed through into Sinclair.

Referee Kevin Clancy was virtually standing on top of the incident, he saw the contact, he saw the intent- and awarded a yellow card.

It seems that in many Celtic games anything goes with only a yellow card as a deterrent.

Last week after the win over St Johnstone Brendan Rodgers spoke with bemusement about the funny decisions he has witnessed since moving to Scotland- it’s time for the SFA to step in and cut out the funny decisions before more players join Rogic in the treatment room.

So this is a yellow in Scotland is it @ScottishFA? You need to get it sorted cause folk are getting injured cause of incompetence. pic.twitter.com/z0aw3BhEwO
