John Hartson has challenged Martyn Waghorn to live up to the hype.

A 6-0 win over Hamilton assisted by referee John Beaton has sent confidence and delusions sky hight over Ibrox ahead of tomorrow’s derby clash.

Waggers, with half of his top flight goals coming against Hamilton Accies, was quick to claim that his Sevco mates are the only team capable of ending Celtic’s unbeaten run.

With nine of the other 11 teams in the Premiership taking points off Sevco the view of the former Wigan marksman is likely to be laughed off up and down the country.

Tomorrow Waggers has to live up to his boast with Hartson warning the striker that he’s likely to be on the wrong end of another derby day disaster.

Celtic are on another level these days and I just don’t think there’s any chance they’ll lose,” the Welshman explains in The Sun.

I’d go as far as to say Rangers should be worried they’re going to suffer another dull one.

“Martyn Waghorn clearly sees it differently. Earlier this week he stated he believed that Rangers were the only team capable of stopping Celtic’s unbeaten run.

On the strength of what?

That’s what I would ask the Ibrox striker. Where does he get that confidence and belief?

It can’t be from looking at the results and performances of the two teams, because they don’t even come close.

Celtic are so far ahead of everyone else in Scotland right now it’s untrue. They’re not just grinding out wins, they’re steamrolling over the opposition on a weekly basis.

Waghorn is entitled to his opinion but it’s one thing saying you’re the team best equipped to stop Celtic, it’s another thing actually doing it.

Apart from anything else, I think Derek McInnes and his Aberdeen players might have something to say about his assessment.

Aren’t the Dons sitting in second place in the league, and quite comfortably too?

No harm to Waghorn, but he’s clutching at straws here, I’m sure Celtic will see this as another opportunity to drive home their superiority and really show what they’re all about.”

If any of Waghorn’s friends or family fancy following the strikers logic they can get 8/1 on their hero picking up a win bonus tomorrow.

Should Aberdeen win today and Sevco lose Waggers side will be nine points and close to 30 goals behind the Dons in the battle to be a strong second.
