More than three weeks after Mark Warburton’s alleged resignation Sevco are still looking for a new magic hat.

Chairman Dave King publicly humiliated Mark Warburton at the club’s AGM in November then over-invested in two loan midfielders and a reserve goalkeeper during the January transfer window.

Without the funds to give Warbo his pay-off the company is now trying to convince it’s season ticket holders that they are serious about bringing in a new manager.

The overnight moonbeam is former Santos Laguna coach Pedro Caixinha who evidently is as fond of the hoops as Graeme Murty.

Caixinha spent three seasons with Celtic’s Mexican partners before quitting in 2015.

Since quitting the Mexican hoops Caixinha was assistant manager to Vitor Pereira at Olympiakos and Fenerbahce and is currently picking up a genuine tax free £2m a year from Qatari side Al-Gharafa.

After being seen to interview Caixinha and being unable to afford compensation for anyone else, Sevco can then go ahead with appointing Alex McLeish in a return to traditions although this time all of Eck’s payments will be subject to Income Tax and National Insurance deductions.
