Celtic will be without James Forrest, Patrick Roberts and Jozo Simunovic for tonight’s match with Inverness Caley Thistle as well as long term absentee Tom Rogic.

On a positive note Mikael Lustig should be available for selection which gives Brendan Rodgers a big decision to make after Cristian Gamboa’s impressive display against Hamilton.

Forrest had a leg scan after being substituted early in the 2-0 win over Hamilton Accies with Roberts and Simunovic both missing the last couple of games through injury.

Speaking about Forrest at Monday’s pre-match conference Rodgers said: “He’s taken a sore one, we’re just waiting on the results of his scan, he’s up and about, walking ok.

It was a really strong challenge, his leg was on the stretch, coming in from the side, I don’t think that there is any serious damage but he’s in a wee bit of pain.”

The Celtic boss added: “Simunovic is doubtful, Patrick Roberts will join the team training at the end of the week.”

Celtic go into tonight’s match knowing that they need a maximum of ten more points to clinch their sixth successive title.

That tally is dependent on Aberdeen taking full points from their home matches against Motherwell and Hearts meaning that the earliest Celtic could clinch the title would be April 2 at Tynecastle.

If Celtic win at Inverness and Aberdeen lose at home to Motherwell the hoops would be able to go 30 points clear with ten games left to play by beating Sevco on March 12, with Rodgers’ team also enjoying a massive goal difference advantage over Derek McInnes’ side.
