Dave King’s lack of HR skills has again been shown up with a withering attack on a current Sevco star.
Any prospects of cutting a deal with Mark Warburton went up in smoke with King’s latest attack where ‘thin skinned’ was the most complimentary aspect of the attack from the South African based criminal.
In July King was happy to extend Warbo’s contract as #goingfor55 was launched with a string of expensive signing.
Joey Barton led the way with a two year contract that was written off two months into the season following a training ground incident shortly after getting pumped 5-1 by Celtic.
Pip Senderos made his debut against Celtic and has barely resurfaced since getting a red card as the hoops killed off the Ibrox title challenge with September barely underway.
As he slaughtered Warbo’s signing King claimed in the Daily Mail: “If you are going to have big signings with big personalities, you have to have the ability to manage the big signings with the big personalities.
“Don’t ask people’s advice and, if you get it, get shirty about it. That was a decision the manager had to make. It didn’t work out.
“It was an expensive exercise but we made a decision to back the manager with all of the risk. He said: “Please, I need you to back me on this one. This guy will make a big, big, difference.”
“It was the same with the Senderos signing. It wasn’t part of the budget but Mark really appealed and said: “Please, please, please, I want Senderos as well.” We backed him.”
Senderos was only given a one season contract although there are some rumours that the former Arsenal hero has an option to extend it by 12 months.
