Brendan Rodgers has revealed that Clint Hill told him that he got away with one after today’s Glasgow derby.

Shortly after Hill had equalised for the visitors Celtic were created with a great chance at the other end.

Leigh Griffiths managed to get away from the hands around his hips to create space in the penalty box.

As he prepared to shoot Hill’s boot came across the strikers chest with the ball rolling through to Wesley Foderingham. Referee Bobby Madden waved play on.

Speaking to the Celtic website Rodgers said: “When Clint Hill tells me he got away with it on the pitch when I spoke to him afterwards, Clint is a good guy, a good, honest fella, and I know when he says it that he got away with one, but probably everyone saw it apart from the referee.”

It was Madden’s first time in charge of a Glasgow derby with the match marred by some some horrendous challenges on Celtic players that went unpunished.

The draw means that Sevco can’t win the title as they trail Celtic by 33 points with ten matches left to play.

Celtic require six points to clinch the title with the two Glasgow sides meeting again on April 23 in the semi-final of the Scottish Cup.
