Brendan Rodgers was back in his native Carnlough yesterday and took time to meet up with the local Celtic Supporters Club.

The Waterfall Bar in the Antrim village is where the fans gather before the pilgrimage over to Glasgow to watch the hoops.

Rodgers’ love for Celtic developed in the village before he graduated to travelling over in the mid-eighties to watch Celtic play in the flesh.

Thoughts of his home in Ireland are never far away for the Celtic boss who spent part of Christmas Day visiting a local hospice before catching up with his family.

After his flying visit to Carnlough, Rodgers was back at Lennoxtown early this morning planning for Sunday’s Scottish Cup semi-final against Sevco at Hampden.

Last week’s draw against Ross County was overshadowed by some bizarre refereeing decisions by Don Robertson who’ll be on duty on Sunday as an additional assistant.

Rodgers main team selection issues will be which two central defenders to pick and to decide whether Tom Rogic is fit enough to start the match.
