Forget it Kenny

Brother Pedro has snubbed Kenny Miller’s plea to get a new contract.

The veteran striker used a club event on Monday to sent out a reminder about his contract situation knowing that the matter would then be raised at the media conference to preview tonight’s match at Kilmarnock.

Miller is the favourite to pick up the Sevco Player of the Year award but that tainted trophy won’t be enough to earn the striker a new contract.

Caixinha will have a very limited budget for next season and won’t be handing out contracts based on sentiment.

Asked about a new deal for Miller he told the Daily Record: “I am the one who chooses the time. Not him, not you, not anyone. When I choose the time, for me it will be the right time to pass on to him and all the others.

I learned one thing when I was an assistant coach. Behind the football player you have a man. In Kenny’s case it’s not a young man. It’s a family man, a father.

When you’re taking the decisions you’re not just affecting the footballer, you are affecting everything. When I have one decision and that decision is not to continue they need to know that from me directly.

They need to know the decision from me, for better or worse. All the players who are included in our list now – if their contract is either about to end, like Clint Hill or Kenny, by the end of May, or whether they have longer contracts – they all finish under my supervision.”

Miller has scored six goals in the Premiership this season as the Ibrox club fell short in the #goingfor55 campaign.

Although he has had a better season that Martyn Waghorn and Joe Garner it appears that Caixinha will be expected to carry out a cost cutting exercise.

Miller, Clint Hill and Pip Senderos are the only players out of contract in the summer with the signals suggesting that none of the them will be offered new deals.
