Celtic booked their place in the final of the SFA Youth Cup by beating holders Motherwell 1-0 in the semi-final at Cappielow.

It was a hard fought match that called on a number of different qualities from Tommy McIntyre as they earned a place in the Hampden final against Sevco.

The match winner was Aidan Nesbitt who knows a thing or two about the competition after scoring a hat-trick in the 5-2 final win over the Ibrox side in 2015.

Nesbitt has been on loan, and impressing, at Morton this season and was one of three players recalled for the match from Development Loans, the others being Joe Thomson and Aidan McIlduff.

At the other end of the spectrum Jack Aitchison is still eligible to play at u-17 level but missed out due to first team duty which could involve a start against Partick Thistle on Wednesday night.

Trophies are always rewarding but the real success is in bringing through the next Kieran Tierney, Callum McGregor, Liam Henderson or James Forrest
