David Murray’s incredible admission about EBT payments to players has gone mainstream with The Sun publishing confirmation that it allowed Rangers to use players that they couldn’t afford.

While BBC Scotland and STV looked the other way at that comment from the Craig Whyte trial the on-line edition of The Sun had it published by lunchtime on Wednesday.

So far most media outlets have steered clear of the nitty gritty of the matter and even claimed that players such as Stefan Klos and Dado Prso were at Ibrox for the love of the jersey and adulation of the fans.

Even the most partisan of supporters knows that almost every player moves to wherever they get offered most money with Prso not quitting Monaco after the 2004 Champions League Final so that he could tell his grandchildren that he once played alongside Boab Malcolm.

So far the football authorities have hidden behind the Nimmo Smith Commission which changed the dates of their remit then overlooked the admitted illegality of five of the EBT cases.

With more evidence emerging on a daily basis of the footballing law breaking at Ibrox it remains to be seen whether anyone within the game wishes to revisit the events prior to 2012 and remove Dave King, Paul Murray and Andrew Dickson from Scottish football.
