Caixinha’s third rate mind games

Pedro Caixinha is rapidly becoming one of the most irritating voices in the game.

From the moment he smirked about having the best squad in Scotland it was obvious that the main purpose of his recruitment was to spin charm towards the deluded to convince them that the fifth best coach in Qatar was actually some sort of footballing visionary.

In other circumstances a coach who had saw his side humiliated in back-to-back derbies would be regarded as a figure of fun but it seems that after two lucky wins over Partick Thistle and Hearts he has licence to preach without questioning.

After those two wins Brother Pedro is now playing at third rate mind games in an attempt to convince wavering season ticket holders to renew for next season’s Jose Mourinho alternative.

Demonstrating his deep knowledge of Scottish football, yesterday Caixinha went into great detail about the qualities of Jack Ross who just happens to be out of contract next month.

I scout and assess a lot of Scottish players, at least those who play against us,” The Sun reported Caixinha saying before Aberdeen visit Ibrox tomorrow night.

He’s one player that because of his age, because of his quality and because of what he has done in the last two seasons, he is a player that I like.

There are maybe six or seven more like Jack that we assessed. He is a good player, young and Scottish.

I like his consistency, although he has missed a few games recently. Jack has not played for the last two or three matches — if I am not wrong — and maybe he is not playing against us on Wednesday night but I like his leadership, as captain at a young age.

I like the way he sees the game and gives the out-ball in the build-up. He gives a balance to the team when it’s attacking.

There are some points for him to divide a game and get more involved in the second stage of the offence phase, so that’s what I like about him.”

We’ll soon see if the three bears are as keen on Pedro’s spending plans as he is on Jack.

Whether the Aberdeen captain is likely to stop seven in a row remains to be seen, we’ll soon discover the reality of Pedro’s transfer policy and so far his eye for a player is looking as convincing as those back-to-back defeats from Brendan Rodgers side.
