Martin Canning has hit out at Andrew Dallas for his performance in the 2-1 defeat away to Inverness Caley Thistle.

Accies were 2-0 down when home keeper Ryan Esson came racing from his line and sent Alli Crawford crashing to the deck.

It looked a clear cut penalty but Dallas pointed for a corner with the match finishing as a 2-1 win for the home side.

A draw would have kept Accies seven points ahead of bottom placed Inverness Caley Thistle but with three matches left to play there is only a four point gap between Cannin’s side and bottom place.

It was a stonewall penalty, I have no idea why it wasn’t given,” the Hamilton boss told The Sun. “It’s an absolute joke.

I usually defend the referees a lot, I’ve always done that, but there comes a point where you can’t keep defending them.

You can’t keep on giving decisions against us, it was just poor refereeing.

“It was a stonewall penalty and we don’t get it yet again for the umpteenth time this season.

It happened before and a referee phoned me up to apologise and no doubt the same thing will happen again this week.

We are not getting much just now and I don’t know whether it’s because we’re Hamilton Accies or not.

I’m sure if it was Celtic or Rangers, all over the papers, social media and Sportscene those ones get given.

At that point we were totally on top in the game so it could have been a game changer.”

In February Dallas phoned up Hearts boss Ian Cathro to apologise for wrongly booking Malaury Martin when Motherwell’s Louis Moult had been tripped by his team-mate Lionel Ainsworth.

Dallas is on the elite FIFA refereeing list and issued five yellow cards during the Inverness v Hamilton match.
