Celtic have been linked with a move for Srdan Plavsic.

According to a report in the Daily Mail the Red Star Belgrade winger has been watched by Celtic’s scouting staff and would cost around £1.5m.

Plavsic is a right sided midfielder or winger and has come through the ranks with the Serbian youth sides and recently made his full international debut.

At 5 foot 5, or 166cm, he is the smallest player in the Red Star side and last season was the most fouled.

After being told that he was too small to make the grade with Vojvodina he switched to Red Star and signed a three year contract in 2015.

Red Star have slipped behind Partizan in the closing stages of the Serbian Super Liga with Plavsic scoring eight goals in 30 appearances.

The former Yugaslav states are acknowledged as among the best countries in Europe for developing young players with Celtic signing Jozo Simunovic from neighbouring Croatia in August 2015.
