Chris Davies sidestepped Dave King’s latest moonbeam when he was asked about the comments from the Ibrox chief today.

With a Champions League qualification campaign to look forward to as well as extending the club’s unbeaten domestic record Davies has plenty to get on with without getting involved in a spat with the South African based criminal.

King’s claim that four of Celtic’s titles didn’t count due to the absence of a club from Ibrox has brought him humiliation throughout the Scottish game with fans piling in to parody the policeman’s son from Castlemilk.

Asked about King’s two title moonbeam Davies told the BBC: “We haven’t spoken about that sort of thing. We’re focused on the here and now, that’s what we do.”

Davies was on media duty as Celtic headed off to Austria to put in the groundwork for the Champions League qualification campaign.

Away from the controversy over dates and ticket allocations the games against Linfield offer the hoops a fairly straightforward start to the competitive season.

The third qualifying round of the Champions League offers a big step up in quality of opposition with Celtic meeting Astana at that stage last season.
