Sevco’s deal to sign Eduardo Herrera to Ibrox is in doubt.

Two weeks after the Pumas ace jetted in to agree personal terms a report on the Mexican website Futbol Total claims that the transfer is off.

Futbol Total claims: “What appeared to be a concrete fact has gradually been diluted, after Glasgow Rangers officially signed Colombian Alfredo Morelos from HJK Helsinki for the next three seasons, which calls into question the arrival of Mexican Eduardo Herrera to the set directed by Pedro Caixinha.”

Morelos jetted in after Herrera flew back to Mexico with the uncapped Columbian getting his work permit and visa completed with a transfer fee agreed with HJK Helsinki.

Herrera was valued at £1.2m with fellow Mexican Carlos Pena costing a fee of £2.7m.

Yesterday it was claimed that both players had been included in the Sevco squad for the first round of the Europa League but UEFA have yet to publish the squads.

Despite lengthy public negotiations Sevco haven’t had any success in their attempts to sign Graham Dorrans from Norwich or Hearts winger Jamie Walker.

After moving on Joe Garner to Ipswich last week there are no signs of any interest in any of the squad built by Mark Warburton.
