Being a punter can be a bit of a dull pursuit when it comes to the Scottish Premiership nowadays thanks to Celtic’s utter dominance of the division. Celtic made it six titles in a row last season as they went the entire campaign unbeaten, becoming the first ever Scottish Invincibles.

With Brendan Rodgers committing his future to the club and Scott Brown set to follow suit, plus more astute transfer business in the offing, there is every reason to think the Bhoys will comfortably defend their title next season. So much so that Celtic are a miserly 1/10 to win the 2017/18 Premiership, and that hardly seems worth bothering with. The only action for fans is to bet on who will win it without Celtic, with Sevco 10/11 favourites and Aberdeen an interesting 13/10.

Last year good money could be made by backing Celtic to finish the season unbeaten, and plenty of people cashed in on this. Now William Hill has come up with another intriguing bet to tempt fans. It is offering 6/5 on Celtic to win the next four league titles in a row, all the way to 2020/21.

That is a really interesting bet. Having won six titles in a row, the Bhoys only seemed to get better when Sevco entered the top flight for the first time. Pedro Caixinha’s team are street behind Celtic and cannot hope to challenge them next season, or in the one after that really. It seems highly likely that Celtic will do it.

Waiting four years to be paid out on a bet sounds a bit crazy, but 6/5 is more than double your money and if you think they will do it then it is a great investment. Check a review here and you will see that William Hill is a reputable bookmaker with plenty of liquidity to cover you. The best you can get on a savings account is around 3% a year, but this offers a whopping 120% return on your investment, so it could be a good idea to back it.

With Scott Brown and Rodgers leading the charge, it is difficult to imagine Celtic being usurped as the dominant force in Scotland between now and the end of the decade. “Scott’s still hungry and driven to keep winning and performing,” said Rodgers. “You see the level he’s at. He has turned 32 but is coming in to an exciting period in his career. He’s definitely someone I’ll be looking to do something with. He and I have talked about staying a few times. I’m sure it’s something we’ll look at. He’ll be around for another few years yet.”

There is a core of excellent young players at Celtic Park and the club continues to snap up exciting emerging talent. Twenty-one-year-old Man City starlet Olivier Ntcham is the latest to join the revolution after impressing on loan at Genoa last season.

You don’t play 37 games for a mid-table Italian side at such a tender age without having something about you, and it is another sign of Celtic making positive moves for the future in the summer transfer window. Chelsea are apparently turning their attentions to Moussa Dembele, which is a worry, but if he goes the club will be well compensated and can invest heavily in the squad, while the likes of Scott Sinclair are staying.

Meanwhile Sevco were knocked out of the Europa League by part timers and look like a team in crisis, and Aberdeen do not have the ambition or the infrastructure to compete with Celtic. That 120% could prove a stupendous investment on your money.
