Pedro’s vow of silence

Eight days after having his dreams of Europa League glory ended by Progres of Luxembourg there is still no word from Pedro Caixinha.

Throughout June we had been treated to pearls of wisdom from the fifth best manager in Qatar as he applied his revolutionary approach to management.

Every aspect of the game was explained in detail as he prepared his squad to win the SPFL title and take Europe by storm.

At Hampden in April Caixinha had even gone to the bother of explaining his tactics in terms of salt and pepper. Six days after losing 2-0 to Celtic he was explaining a 5-1 home defeat from the champions.

Since being knocked out of the Europa League qualifiers Graham Dorrans has been signed but no fixtures have been arranged and no players moved on.

The Sevco boss has told the Portuguese media that he is looking to get rid of 14 players from the squad he inherited, so far only five have came off the wage bill.

With the reality of a divided dressing room to deal with it’ll take a far better manager than Brother Pedro to sort things out.

Most of the unwanted players are under contract until 2019 or 2020 and know that they will still be around long after Caixinha has returned to the desert.
